Hello Slugger.

Uncle Johan!

[Pieces of gravel and a few larger chunks of rock are scattered over the ground as Slugger slides down from the heap. He seems excited.]

I'm glad you came.

[Part of him isn't really sure why he did. It would have been so easy just to step out and ...give up. And he almost did.

But in the end, he'd taken a few of his things he'd collected up before it, and left the town behind.

He nods.]

It ....seemed right.

[And that's about all the explanation he can give as to why he did it.]

You seem happy.

[Of all his friends here, it was Johan most of all whom he feared might stay behind by choice. He's happy to see that Johan chose not to give up despite everything he must face.]

A place where I wouldn't lose what I have was my dream.

[And it came true.]

It seems it came true. Your friends are here then?

[Slugger nods 'yes' and looks toward the unfinished town.]

What will you do?

I'm not sure.

[Johan follows his gaze.]

See if they plant to open the school again I suppose. Build a house...

I don't really have any plans anymore. So I'll have to see how it goes.

['See how it goes' is pretty much Slugger's plan as well aside from one other...]

I'm just going to be who I want to be. You should, too.

[That gets a smile. A rare non fake one.]

Yes. I just have to figure out who I want to be first.
