Thanks. I've already got a few people who I've been meanin' to introduce to you.

[After a moment of thought:]

We should have a party with all of 'em sometime.

[Partying is the last thing he feels like right now, but it'd be a nice way to get their friends together.]

[A party sounds loud and crazy and Czes isn't feeling up to it any more than he thinks Firo is.]

I don't know about a party, but if you want to invite them for dinner I think I'll be fine with it. Can you cook, though? Because I can't make dinners.

Dinner sounds great.

Sure I can. Don't expect anything really fancy, but I can make somethin' good.

Great! Of course, I'll help too, since we'll be living together again.

[foundafamily]

Yeah, you'd better.

[He nudges Czes playfully to show he's joking.]

I guess we will need to find food, too...

There's probably a grocery shop. Can we get ice cream?

[foundafamily]

[He has to smile a little; it's such a little kid-ish request.]

Sure. We don't have a list or anything, so get what you want.

[It's small consolation for being trapped here, but it's what they can get.]

Just don't go too crazy.

[He grins widely at the consent and quickens his step.]

I won't! What else are we gonna get, Firo?

[foundafamily]

I guess... bread, milk, eggs...

[The basics. And definitely booze, too, but that's not relevant to Czes.

He smiles and looks down at Czes as he tries to think of more fun items.]

Do you like cracker jack?

Those? Sure! Those'll be good for breakfast when we don't really wanna cook, right?

The milk better be safe...

[foundafamily]

Right. And if anybody decides to start up a baseball game, we'll be ready to go!

[The cheery tone fades from his voice. Czes brings up a good point.]

...I guess we probably should find some way to check it. They might not let us totally off the hook that easily.

I can smell it! If it's something in the milk, we can probably stir it with a straw or something, but in case they poison it or something we can check by smelling it.

We can try to be safe and just get OJ or something, too, though.

[foundafamily]

That's true... But be careful--and we'll both do it.

[He doesn't know if you can get poisoned by smelling, but he doesn't want Czes to be taking the risk alone.]

Yeah, that sounds good. And there should be water around here, too. We'll get by.

You're not the one who can heal here, Firo. I don't want anything permanent happening to you.

[foundafamily]

[He runs his hand through his hair, thinking that over. Czes is right, of course, but a lack of immortality hasn't stopped him from drinking it before. Of course, that time there were hefty consequences for the household if nobody drank...]

I don't really want anything happenin' to you, either, even if it isn't permanent.

...We could get by without it.

[He's thinking so seriously about this Czes kinda feels bad for being pushy just to get him to react. He sighs and raises his hands to push Firo forward.]

That works! It's not like you need milk anyway, right? Drinking it won't make you any taller anyway!

[foundafamily]

I-Hey!

[He's too busy being offended to resist the shove. He can't say Czes is wrong...]

You didn't need to say that!

Why? It's not like you're that short, Firo. I mean, look at me!

[foundafamily]

I never said I was!

[Czes is the one who implied it!

He does give him another look, suddenly wondering if Czes is upset being stuck a kid.]

...I guess you won't be able to grow at all now that you're immortal again.

[Not to rub it in.]

I guess not. [He sounds nonchalant about it.] But that's nothing all that new for me though. I guess I don't have to deal with my voice cracking or growth pains, at least.

[foundafamily]

...Yeah, I guess.

[He doesn't sound convinced.]

All that stuff's annoying, but when I was your age--er, you get what I mean--I couldn't wait to grow up.

I wasn't thinking about that sort of stuff. [He's glad to be standing behind Firo right now. He frowns as he pushes Firo a little harder, his voice lower just a little.] I just did what everyone else around me did.

[foundafamily]

Then what did you--?

[Czes doesn't sound too happy, or at least Firo thinks he doesn't. It's hard to tell. A change of subject is probably in order.

He lets Czes push him, but twists around to look at him.]

...What else do you think we're gonna need?

[He responds to the obvious change of subject with a slightly moody but thoughtful hum. He goes along with it without question.]

Maybe some toothbrushes and toothpaste? And shampoo, and soap, and things for the bedroom.
